Our grading stations for the assessment of timber allow – depending on the design – the visual inspection of the wood surface on all 4 sides. The quality grading can be done manually by one or more employees, or automatically through the use of scanners. A combination of manual and automatic grading is also available.
The assignment of the quality to each board can be done in various ways. In manual sorting, for example, by pulling or pushing the boards by hand and reading the position of the board using light scanners, or also by pushing buttons. In automatic quality sorting, the data determined by the scanner are virtually linked to the respective board.
To prevent a wrong sequence and therefore incorrect quality assignments of the boards within a sorting line, we provide various mechanisms for sequence and plausibility checks, such as, e.g., the unique marking of the boards.
